Summary: Kst always opens as a maximised window even when
initial property is normal/minimised
Product: kst
Version: 2.0.3
Platform: MS Windows
OS/Version: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: ui
AssignedTo: ***@kde.org
ReportedBy: ***@gordonlife.com
Version: 2.0.3
OS: MS Windows
A program is being used to collect the data so it can be plotted real-time by
Kst. The data collection software has been written in C++ using MFC (An older
piece of our software being modified to meet our needs).
Using the command... (see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb762153%28VS.85%29.aspx for details)
HINSTANCE ShellExecute(HWND hwnd, LPCTSTR lpOperation, LPCTSTR lpFile, LPCTSTR
lpParameters, LPCTSTR lpDirectory, INT nShowCmd);
Kst is run with a pre-designed session (.kst) file passed as a parameter and
nShowCmd is set to SW_SHOWMINNOACTIVE. This is designed so that Kst opens and
minimises to the start bar so the data collection software can be set up before
swapping to Kst to view the plot real-time.
But when the function is executed, Kst opens maximised on top of the data
collection software every time. The cause was put to Kst as setting a shortcut
on the desktop and telling it to open minimised still results in Kst running
maximised.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Create a shortcut to Kst on the desktop.
Right click the icon then select Properties -> Shortcut -> Run -> Minimized.
Click Apply and close Properties.
Double click the shortcut.
Actual Results:
Kst opens maximised and is the active window.
Expected Results:
In the case of reproduction, Kst should open minimised on the start bar and be
the active window.
In the case of the details, Kst should open minimised and the data collection
software should still be the active window.
OS: Windows 32-Bit
Data collection software:
- Written in Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, updated in Microsoft Visual C++ 2010.
- Using MFC libraries
- Saves data in ASCII text files
